If You’ve Had a Meltdown (or felt like it) in December Read This Post
It’s less than 2 weeks until Christmas!!!
I tell myself every year that I’m going to have all my Christmas shopping completed, presents wrapped & cookies baked so I can enjoy the festivities of the holidays.
Truth be told I may or may not have been close to tears in the lineup at Chapters the other day. I was overwhelmed, I felt like I had so much to do & the days felt like they were closing in on me.
When I got home I let go of the events of the day & I created a bedtime routine that helped me calm my stress & prepare me for a restful night's sleep.
Sister, bedtime routines are not just for kids!
I know that I’m not alone in feeling like I have to be everything to everyone so I’m sharing with you my tips from a hot mess to zen in less than an hour!
Detox bath - Pour yourself a glass of wine or sparkling water and wash all your doubts and worries away. Here’s my recipe:
1 cup epsom salts
½ baking soda
4-6 drops of pure therapeutic grade essential oils like Lavender, Serenity, Cedarwood, or Frankincense
Soak for 15-20 mins with your book or favorite podcast
Meditate - I know sometimes it can be hard to shut our minds off. Try it for 3-5 minutes - just try!
Close your eyes, take a deep breath, count to 4, hold for 4 & exhale for 4. Repeat 5-10 times
If Meditation is not your thing, think of 3 things that you are grateful for today. It can be simple as drinking a hot cup of coffee without interruptions or your heated house on a cold day.
I love filling my diffuser with sleepytime oils before bed to help me calm further and sleep well.
Here are a few of my favorite combos:
Frankincense + Lavender
Copaiba + Adaptiv Blend
Cedarwood + Lavender + Easy Air
I hope you found this adult bedtime routine helpful, if you know some Savvy Sisters who might want to try this out than go ahead and send this to them and let them know that you have some tips that are going to help ease some stress this holiday season.
