Tips To Beat The Winter Blues

I’m sending you a virtual high-five today  for making it through January! I have the fortunate (unfortunate) pleasure of living in Ottawa which claims to have had the snowiest January on record with more than 97cm of snow!

For all of you winter lovers out there this is your dream, for the rest of us (including me) I’m really feeling the cabin fever.

I wanted to share with you some of the ways I have been trying to beat the winter blues.

  • Every morning before my feet hit the floor I give gratitude for another day. If your day is like mine, you are probably being pulled in 10 different directions. Stop, take a breath & offer gratitude for one thing in your life. I have been writing it down in this journal & loving how taking 5 minutes has completely set my tone for the day.

  • I've incorporated yoga into my schedule everyday. I've been doing this since holiday break & I love it!  I just completed Yoga with Adriene 30 day  - dedicate program  I'm usually the one that starts a "challenge" and allows life to get in the way or making 100 excuses why I don't have time. What I loved about this program is that is was under 30 mins and for us busy women this is doable.

  • I use my essential oils daily. The first thing I do when I walk into the kitchen each morning even before coffee, is set up my diffuser that sits on my kitchen counter. I'm usually diffusing an uplifting blend like peppermint + wild orange or OnGuard to protect our home from germs! I use my essential oils for mood support, immune support and to help me & my family sleep well.

What are some things you are incorporating into your daily routine to help beat the winter blues?

Feel free to try out my ideas. I would love to hear how they work for you.
