Is Your Health Worth The Money?
I have always been passionate about health and helping others so when my career took me into the healthcare world, I was not surprised. I wanted to help everyone! I spent over 10 years advocating on behalf of cancer patients for therapeutic treatments.
This was both a rewarding and impactful part of my career. I saw firsthand the lengths patients and families would go to invest for better health outcomes.
In 2016 I was introduced to essential oils. I’ve used essential oils in the past and had no idea the amazing therapeutic health benefits. I came from the world of “Big Pharma” so this was completely new to me.
My son who was 9 months at the time was entering daycare & we were told that we would basically be sick from September to May and that would be our new normal. I thought, there must be a better way.
I was skeptical that essential oils would help our family ward of everyday wellness concerns.
I was also hesitant to spend money on these oils, what if they didn’t work? What if I didn’t use them? What if I forgot how to use them?
All these questions were swirling through my mind as I handed over my credit card. As I waited for them to arrive I kept wondering if they were worth the money.
They arrived, I was nervous to use them, but I did and boy have they changed our lives. That winter we were blown away by the effectiveness these oils had on our entire family
(including our fur baby). I’ve used essential oils in the past but these were so much more pure, potent and full of possibilities.
This experience prompted us to look at our health as a whole.
We need to do a better job of investing in our health because this is the only body we have and our future self will be forever grateful.
I know what you’re thinking, but I’m so busy, I don’t have time to add another thing to my already overflowing plate.
I get it, I’m right there with you and believe me some days are better than others for me in implementing healthy routines into our lives.
Here are 5 ways that investing in our health has changed our lives & could help you too!
We are not running to the doctors as often. As a result, we are not taking time away from daycare/school, work and our business.
We were not sick once this winter!
When we began investing in our health we noticed that we were able to fight off many of the seasonal illnesses that plagued many people. We were told that influenza was heightened in our area, we wouldn’t know ;)
2. We stopped taking prescriptions & over the counter meds for everyday wellness concerns like coughs, flu, allergies etc.
We now use pure therapeutic grade essential oils to help treat our everyday wellness concerns naturally. This has been a huge ah-ha moment for us, that they really worked! (remember we were skeptical)
3. We sleep better at night
I thought I slept pretty well, except for my husband’s snoring, which would wake me up at night or his nightly sneezing fits because of his allergies.
What I didn’t realize it my sleep quality sucked!
When I implemented a bedtime routine (yes not just for kids) I’m now sleeping longer and more deeply. No more groggy mornings and wanting to hit snooze 3 times!
4. We have more energy
This has been huge! We have traded in the Netflix marathons for playtime in the park with our son, bike rides and blowing bubbles.
5. We pay more attention to what we are eating
I will admit this is a work in progress. We like to indulge from time to time :)
We read labels more and pay attention to where our produce is coming from. Summer is my favorite time or year because we visit our local markets and stock up a seasonal fruits and veggies.
We also take supplements because we know that we can drink kale smoothies all day long, but we are still not receiving the recommended vitamins, minerals & fatty acids we need for our body to be in its optimal state.
So if you think you need the perfect gym clothes, smoothie recipe or yoga mat, you don’t.
